Position Summary
Sets up and operates conventional welding equipment in a fabrication/job shop environment.
Fits up structural steel to approved drawings for carbon and specialty metal fabrication.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience using multiple welding disciplines
- Prior experience in light/heavy plate welding
Required Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read, understand and interpret blue prints and engineering drawings
- Ability to use measuring tools to determine dimensions and tolerances
- Verifies conformance of finished work to blue print and other specifications
- Sets up and operates welding machines on trial run to verify accuracy
- Measures/scribes dimensions and reference points on work for welding operation
- Sharp focus on attention to detail
